Requirements & Policies
At South Park Waterland, your dog's safety and well-being are our top priorities. We have implemented measures to ensure a harmonious and secure environment for all our furry guests.
Dogs who regularly attend Pawcademy Playcare are given priority for boarding during peak seasons. This helps maintain a familiar and comfortable setting for them while minimizing the risk of altercations. For dogs who do not participate in the program, we provide separate boarding arrangements during these busy periods to ensure their safety and peace of mind.
To ensure compatibility and a positive experience for every dog, we conduct thorough socialization interviews. As part of our commitment to their welfare, we require a minimum of 2-3 playcare sessions before boarding. This allows us to understand their behavior, assess their comfort level, and ensure they feel at ease in our facility.
We understand the importance of your dog's happiness and security. Rest assured, our dedicated team works diligently to create a safe and enjoyable environment for every furry guest. You can trust us to provide exceptional care and prioritize your dog's well-being throughout their stay with us.
Vaccinations
We require all dogs entering our facilities to have up-to-date Bordetella, Canine Influenza (H3N8 & H3N2), Distemper/Parvo (DHLPP), and Rabies vaccinations.
Additionally, we also highly recommend getting the Leptospirosis vaccine and ask that all guests be on a monthly flea preventative to ensure a safe and happy experience for all dogs!
Free Trial
*All trials are by appointment only. Trials on weekends are charged at the half-day rate. Pickups for weekend trials must be made by 4pm
We conduct a trial assessment for all new dogs joining our pack. A trial is a minimum of 2-4 hours, but you can leave your pup with us up until 7pm Monday-Friday and 4pm Saturday & Sunday. The trial is an opportunity for us to meet your dog and make sure they’re comfortable with our staff, facility, and the other dogs. Please be prepared to stay in the facility for the first 10-15 minutes of the trial.
We conduct trial assessments every day of the week. To set up a trial, please fill out the new client registration below, then give us a call so we may complete your registration!
Spay/Neuter
All dogs over the age of 7 months must be spayed or neutered in order to participate in group play. If not, they’ll be able to enjoy individual play in one of our spacious play yards as well as one-on-one enrichment activities with one of our instructors.
Feeding
We ask all clients to provide any food for their pups to keep them on the same diet. We will follow the feeding instructions provided on your account. As a last resort, we do have house food available for a small fee.
Medications
We can administer medications (not including injectables) during your pup’s stay with us. For minor medications, the cost is 5% of the boarding cost. Standard medications are 10% of the boarding cost. And, excessive medications are 15% of the boarding cost.
Reservations
All Staycare reservations require a $50 deposit. The deposit will be applied to the cost of your reservation at checkout. If you are unable to keep your Staycare reservation, we kindly ask that you notify us at least 48 hours before the reservation start time to receive a full refund of your deposit. No shows, as well as any cancellation within 48 hours of a reservation start time will forfeit the deposit.
All overnight reservations must be made at least 24 hours prior to drop off or you will be charged a $25 “Walk-In” fee.
Check-In
Check-in time is between 6:30 AM-7:00 PM Monday-Friday and 9:00 AM-5:00 PM Saturday, Sunday, and during Holiday Hours.
We require at least 24 hours notice to schedule an early drop off. Early drop offs will incur a $25 fee.
Check-Out
Staycare rates are calculated based on a 24-hour period from drop off time plus a 3-hour grace period. For example, if you check in at 9am, you have until 12pm on the day of pickup to checkout before you are charged the late pickup after drop off fee of $35 per dog.
After hours checkouts are allowed up to 10:30 PM at a rate of $15 for Playcare dogs and $20 for Staycare dogs. After hours checkouts must be arranged at least 24 hours in advance.

Important Notice: Mystery Dog Flu
Reflecting on the past year, we all remember the unease brought on by the mysterious dog illness that fortunately did not have a major effect on our canine companions. However, it was a challenging time for all of us, especially for those of us who consider our dogs part of the family. We're thrilled to share some heartening news: thanks to our "Safety First" initiative, we're proud to announce that our parks remained a safe haven, with no reported illnesses among our furry attendees! This achievement was made possible by closely collaborating with health experts and implementing robust safety measures to ensure our park stayed the safest spot in town for our beloved dogs.
We're eagerly looking forward to welcoming you and your pup back to our doggie school. The joy and laughter of dogs playing, learning, and simply being their wonderful selves are what make the Pawcademy truly special. Thank you for your trust in us during those uncertain times.
